Jeremy Wing Kwan Wong is an accomplished pianist, music educator. He is currently the president of World Piano Teachers Association (WPTA) Finland, and the founder of Nordic Piano Studio. He also holds the position of music director for Andreaskyrkan, Finland and ABRSM coordinator in Finland. Since 2019, Jeremy has been engaged as an adjunct lecturer in School of Music, NAFA, Singapore for online distance teaching.

 

As an established Classical musician, Jeremy was the best graduate from Nanyang Academy of Fine arts (NAFA), after which he completed his Bachelor of Music (First class honours) at the Royal College of Music (London) under the full scholarship by National Arts Council, (NAC) and Masters of Music at Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki. Specialise in piano performance, piano pedagogy, music theory, music composition and improvisation.  He also holds both Associate and Licentiate performance diplomas from the Trinity College of Music, London.

 

Jeremy is the prize winner in many competitions including the 7th International Piano Competition in Milan, and 26th International Music Competition 'Vittoria Caffa Righetti Award ' where he received Second Prize for his composition work titled 'Four Miniatures for Duo Accordions ' (2018).

 

As an active pedagogue and researcher, he has written a three-volume book on Applied Improvisation (2014) and Adult Improvisation Course for Adult learners (2018) as well as two academic research dissertations; on an analytical - led performance aspect of selected Schubert's piano sonatas and the study of formal functions in the themes of Seasons op. 37 by Tchaikovsky.

Chen QU is a virtuosic Finnish- Chinese pianist and the artistic director of World Piano Teachers Association (WPTA) Finland. She holds a Diploma in music Performance from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore under the tutelage of Dr. Nicholas Ong (The Julliard School ) before moving to Helsinki Finland to pursue her Bachelors and Masters in Music degrees from Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki  in Classical piano performance and piano pedagogy under the piano class of renowned Finnish pianists Teppo Koivisto and Juhani Lagerspetz. 

 

Beginning her musical journey at 4 years old and by the age of 12, she has obtained the highest possible grade 10 piano certification conferred both by Shanghai conservatory, China conservatory and Chinese Musician Association. 

 

A multi international competition award winner, her achievements include second prize for the 3rd Irmler International Competition, Dalian, third prize in senior section of 7th International piano competition in Milan (2017) and Silver prize from Asia International piano competition in Korea at the same year. She was the First prize winner from The North International Music Competition Stockholm in 2019. As a  frequent scholarship recipient of Sibelius Academy foundation and Taiteen edistämiskeskus  grants, she actively participates in masterclasses and music festivals in Europe and Asia.

 

Apart from performing, Chen is a certified piano teacher and has given guest lectures at Confucius Institute, University of Helsinki as well as teaches at International School of Music, Finland. Since 2014, Chen has been an active performer in cultural events and concerts in Helsinki. She is also one of the soloist and chamber musician in 'East Meets West' concert series organised by International Artists' Association Finland and Caisa Cultural Centre in 2020 and 2021.
